Looking for a cozy and snuggled up watchlist to binge-watch this winter? Here’s an extensive list of movies and series to add to your winter watchlist, both from Hollywood and Bollywood, to warm you up with laughs, tears and surprises.
I. The Derry Girls (Series)
“Not interested in you like that, look at the state of you” – This line has become a vey famous and humorous audio track all over TikTok and Instagram for the past few years and you yourself might have heard of it. And guess where it stems from? A three-season series known as ‘The Derry Girls’, which is a story about Irish high school girls (Well technically also an English boy) humorously struggling through their lives all between the political conflict of Northern Ireland in the 1990s.
If you are looking for a series that is as unserious as it gets, this is certainly a watch. Every episode has a story of its own that will make sure to give you a time of your life. Seeing the teenagers, incredibly acted out by the not-so-teen-but-don’t-at-all-appear-as-adult actors, struggle through the universal challenges of any teenager, gives one a break from all the external stress because that’s how engrossing it is!

II. Koode (Movie) (movies and series to add to your winter watchlist)
This movie is an underrated masterpiece (PERSONAL OPINION! Do not come for me). A very humble movie from the Malayalam industry it touches the nuances of sibling bonds. The story is about a brother who comes back to his hometown after the death of his younger sister just to later on realize that her soul is still trapped in their family van. Relax! It’s not a horror story. Instead it is a very peaceful story which gives a dive into the sister’s life when she was alive and away from her brother and the strengthening of the bond between the siblings who never really got the time to interact with each other their whole life.
This movie will for sure give you the giggles and the cozy feeling one associates with their loved ones. It shows how even if you are a ghost or a human, you will always be out there pestering your siblings. You might shed a few tears here and there, but that is how close the movie will get to your heart once you watch it.
III. Perks Of Being A Wallflower (Movie)
“Why do nice people choose the wrong people to date?”
“Are we talking about anyone specific?… Well, we accept the love we think we deserve.”
“Can we make them know that they deserve more?”
“We can try.”
This is just a small piece of conversation between the characters, think how beautiful the entire novel would be! Perks of Being A Wallflower is a movie adaptation of a novel with the same name and the writer of the novel and the director of the film are the same person. It is a story about a young teenage boy who is an introvert and gets adopted by a group of friends who are his seniors (cute, right?). But this is not just another movie of teenage life. It is more of a point of view of a teenager who sees the world a bit differently- with just more kindness.
The movie values friendship, shows sides of teenage life that the world usually tends to ignore, portrays the life of an introverted mind and enhances one’s view of life. Somehow or the other, every person will relate to at least one part of the movie. So why wait? Go, give it a watch.
IV. Piku (Movie)

A comedy-drama movie that reflects the relationship and conflicts between an aging father and his daughter. This movie highlights the emotional relationship and support that a parent-child relationship has, something we ourselves experience. The movie represents the difference between the ideologies of both the daughter and the father and how yet they try to understand each other the best they can.
The constant bickering and tu-tu-me-me between the characters provide a lot of comedic relief. So if you are looking to watch something with your parents, just switch this movie on and behold, you have made a fond memory with your parents.
V. Fleabag (Series)
Personally, I love it when the characters break the fourth wall. This comedy-drama television series is a mind blowing, exceptional masterpiece that only the most rare creative mind could have ever thought of creating. This movie is like a window, no, no, a balcony, into a mind of woman who is very much sarcastic, witty and frustrated- emotionally, physically, mentally and sexually- about her life and the ones around her.
This movie is a laugh at the much real situations of people who genuinely want to heal but will turn their heads against the ones who actually want to help. No, it isn’t a sad series. Well, okay there are parts that will make you tear up. But it shows the different nuances of human and how everyone copes with it.

So yup, there ya go. Add these movies and series to your winter watchlist and get the show rolling!
Enjoy this winter with this watchlist while piling yourself up with snacks and being cuddled up in your bed. Also why watch alone? Tag along a friend or your family and enjoy. Happy Winter!
